Biography: Gregory Elders, M.D. is a board certified and fellowship trained orthopedic and spine surgeon with Texas Bone and Joint with offices in Conroe and Huntsville, Texas. Dr. Elders is an honors graduate of the University of Michigan Medical School and served as a chief resident in the Henry Ford Hospital's department of orthopedic surgery. He then went on to complete an advanced spinal surgery fellowship at the prestigious Texas Back Institute. Dr. Elders has over 20 years of experience in his field. He specializes in the treatment of a broad range of musculoskeletal conditions including sports medicine injuries, hand injuries, foot injuries and degenerative conditions and arthritis. Additionally, he has completed a fellowship in advanced spinal surgery and specializes in the treatment of all spinal conditions including herniated discs, spinal stenosis, degenerative disc disease, spinal trauma, and spinal deformity.Regardless of what orthopedic or spinal condition you may be suffering from, Dr. Elders can help you determine the best course of action to get back to a pain-free life. Dr. Elders offers the most innovative and minimally invasive techniques available. He continues to actively engage with global industry leaders in the development of minimally invasive techniques and instrumentation. When it comes to serving the community, Dr. Elders focuses on a comprehensive, team approach to patient care that puts patients first. Care Philosophy: I believe in personalizing care for every patient. We forget that every patient is uniquely different, not just medically but in other ways as well: education, language, cultural beliefs, religious belief. I don't think we can succeed unless we understand the role of these factors in patients&rsquo medical conditions. I believe that every patient deserves to be treated with respect, again regardless of other factors. Lastly, I believe in sharing responsibility of every patient&rsquos health with him or her. I try to educate all my patients enough so that they can participate in making decisions about their care. I earned a Bachelor&rsquos of Medicine and Surgery from the Government Medical College in Surat, India and completed a residency in the Department of Internal Medicine at St. Luke&rsquos University Health Network. I am a co-author of several publications and presentations, and I have completed research and quality improvement projects in the areas of nutrition and improving mammogram improvement rates. I am certified in basic life support (BLS) and advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) and I am board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Outside of work, I like to cook, try new recipes and spend time with my three boys.
