Dr. Tovo's residency at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas was marked by awards in achievement including the Outstanding Resident in Obstetrics and Gynecology by the Southern Gynecologic Assembly and the Joseph Warren Award for Resident Excellence.Board Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Tovo is dedicated to providing comprehensive women's health care including contraceptive management, high-risk pregnancy, minimally invasive pelvic surgery, and menopause. She is deeply committed to advancing patient care through innovative treatments and comprehensive practice.Outside the hospital, Dr. Tovo enjoys spending time with her family, including her husband and three children. Dr. Tovo is an enthusiastic marathon runner, reader, traveler and skier.

Biography: Selam Whitfield, MD is an OB/GYN surgeon. She joined Matlock OB/GYN in 2021 and provides general obstetric and gynecological services for women of all ages. Dr. Whitfield enjoys providing comprehensive care for women throughout some of the most challenging, vulnerable, and empowering stages of life. She is passionate about improving health literacy in her patients in order to facilitate shared decision making. Her clinical interests include contraception management, adolescent care, and minimally invasive surgery. Dr. Whitfield received her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky in 2017. In 2021 she completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, where she served as Administrative Chief Resident in her final year and was awarded Resident of the Year and Outstanding Resident in Minimally Invasive Surgery. She is a member of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and the Society of Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgeons. While away from the office, Dr. Whitfield enjoys cooking, baking, watching any Netflix series pertaining to those two activities, and spending time with her husband and newborn son.
