Biography: Dr. Su is a board certified ophthalmologist and a fellow of American Academy of Ophthalmology, who specializes in the treatment of medical and surgical retinal diseases. After successfully graduating from The University of Texas Medical School at Houston, he completed a preliminary general surgery internship at Saint Joseph Hospital in Houston. He was awarded the prestigious intern of the year award for his outstanding performance. Dr. Su attended The University of Maryland for his ophthalmology training and was honored with the chief resident position for demonstrating exceptional leadership skills and excellence in patient care. After successfully completing his residency, Dr. Su returned to Houston for retina fellowship training under the guidance of long time mentor Dr. Charles Garcia and Dr. Maurice Landers. Throughout his residency and fellowship training, Dr. Su was exposed to diverse range of pathology and had extensive training in medical and surgical retinal diseases. Dr. Su has practiced in the Rio Grande Valley since 2006 and has been providing medical care in Texas for over ten years. He has developed a special interest in diabetic related eye diseases as well as macular degeneration. He is an experienced vitreoretinal surgeon and strives to provide the best possible care for the residents of the Rio Grande Valley.
