Biography: Dr. Michael Loshigian is a podiatrist and a board certified foot surgeon. He is a Clinical Instructor at The Mount Sinai Medical Center in NYC, as well as NY Hospital Queens where he is in part responsible for the instruction of podiatry residents. He is also on staff at NYU Langone Medical Center and the Fifth Avenue Surgery Center. Doctor Michael Loshigian earned his Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences, with honors, from the State University of New York. He completed the Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine program Magna Cum Laude from the Wm. M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago. Returning to New York, he completed his Podiatric Surgical Residency at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center and NYHQ, both academic affiliates of the Weil Medical College of Cornell University. He then entered private practice in 1995. In 1997 Dr. Loshigian founded The Metropolitan Foot Group, a private practice limited to Podiatry & Reconstructive Foot Surgery, and in 2005 also joined the Murray Hill Medical Group as their Chief Podiatrist. Being a meticulous and innovative surgeon, Dr. Loshigian offers his patients the latest in surgical techniques. His goals are to provide them the fastest possible recovery, a minimum discomfort, and return to normal function. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Podiatric Surgery for which he has served as an examiner. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.

He is skilled in minimally invasive total joint arthroplasty as well as advanced techniques in managing complications of failed or painful hip and knee replacements.

Biography: I grew up in Seattle, went to college in Boston, and have studied medicine and surgery in New York City. I have had the privilege to work with and learn from many excellent surgeons, doctors, and researchers, and I am proud to bring that experience and expertise to the community of patients throughout the Mount Sinai network. Through a range of approaches -- both surgical and non-surgical -- that we tailor to each person's needs, our team's goal is to help you restore, maintain, or improve your function and appearance. It is important to me that care of my patients is aligned with research and academic pursuits. My team and I are working to develop new approaches to enhance recovery after nerve injury, studying ways to improve outcomes in reconstruction of the breast (particularly after partial mastectomy), and developing new technology to improve surgical training and education.
