Biography: Dr. Zihni is a foregut surgeon who joined SurgOne and the Denver Esophageal and Stomach Center in October, 2018. Dr. Zihni has particular interest in esophageal and stomach surgery including anti-reflux surgery, surgery for achalasia, gastric or esophageal cancer, and gastroparesis. He is trained in minimally invasive surgery, and can perform most procedures laparoscopically or endoscopically. Dr Zihni has published extensively on outcomes of minimally invasive surgery, as well as the ergonomics of surgical platforms and educational strategies in surgery.Dr. Zihni was born and raised in Queens, New York. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Stony Brook University with a degree in biochemistry and completed his medical degree at SUNY Downstate Medical Center. As a medical student, Dr. Zihni completed an additional year of research as a Doris Duke Fellow at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, where he studied burn immunology. Dr. Zihni completed A general surgery residency at Washington University in St Louis, where he spent an additional two years of research studying ergonomics of surgical platform, robotic surgical education, and outcomes of foregut surgery. Dr. Zihni went on to complete a fellowship in foregut surgery at The Oregon Clinic in Portland, Oregon before joining Dr. Kurian, another Oregon Clinic graduate, in private practice. In his free time, Dr. Zihni loves reading, playing video games, exploring Colorado and traveling to other destinations, and spending time with his family.?

Biography: Dr. Michael McCabe has a philosophy of individualized care and placing emphasis on the particular needs and concerns of his patients. He believes in strong patient/provider communication skills, as he wants his patients to fully understand their disease state and treatment recommendations. Dr McCabe has a particular interest in diagnosing, staging and endoscopic therapies for GI oncology patients and is passionate about treating pancreatobiliary disease as he specializes in ERCP, diagnostic/therapeutic EUS, cholangioscopy and endoscopic mucosal resection.Dr. McCabe graduated from the University of Virginia with distinction, double majoring in biology and economics, prior to obtaining his medical degree from Georgetown University He subsequently completed his residency and fellowship training at the University of Virginia. After fellowship, he joined the clinical faculty at the University of Virginia, while completing an additional Advanced Endoscopy Fellowship to learn the latest, state-of-the-art endoscopy techniques. He is actively dual board certified in both internal medicine and gastroenterology/hepatology.Dr. McCabe's personal interests include skiing, hiking, biking and traveling.

Biography: Dr. Kurian joined SurgOne in 2013 and specializes in minimally invasive gastrointestinal and hernia surgery. He has a special interest in disorders of the esophagus and stomach. He is the founder of Denver Esophageal and Stomach Center. He uses both flexible endoscopy (flexible camera through the mouth) and laparoscopy (camera through small incisions on the abdomen) in the management of these diseases. Dr. Kurian completed his medical schooling in Bangalore Medical College, India in 2001. After this he completed a general surgery residency in the United Kingdom, where he is a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. He moved to Philadelphia, USA to continue his general surgery training in Abington Memorial Hospital. He graduated from his training program in 2011. He has completed a fellowship in minimally invasive surgery of the esophagus and stomach and advanced flexible endoscopy.He is interested in the incisionless endoscopic management of surgical disorders. His research interests are in benign esophageal motility disorders, gastroesophageal reflux and esophageal cancer. He has written extensively on POEM, which is a new incisionless surgical endoscopic procedure for patients with swallowing problems and gastroesophageal reflux disease. He is also involved in research directed towards improvements in surgical education of minimally invasive and endoscopic surgery.

Care Philosophy: Dr. Andrew S. Korson is a board certified gastroenterologist bringing vast experience and fluency in the Spanish language to the RMG Lakewood clinic and Lakewood Endoscopy. He earned his medical degree from New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York and completed his internship and residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, Mass. as well as a clinical fellowship in medicine at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Korson has advanced training in interventional endoscopy as well as pancreatic and biliary endoscopy. Throughout his career, he has obtained prestigious honors, including election into the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Honor Medical Society, a recipient of the Harvard Medical School Excellence in Tutoring Award and was awarded with the University of Colorado Travel Grant among many other honors. Biography: Dr. Fishman is board certified in gastroenterology and internal medicine. Born and raised in South Africa, Dr. Fishman is a graduate of the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg. He has trained and worked in several countries, including South Africa and England, before completing a medical residency at St. Mary's Health Center and fellowship at St. Louis University Hospital in the United States. He is involved in various research and publishing activities and was instrumental in developing various community outreach programs. Named as one of Denver's Top Doctors in 5280 Magazine annually 2005-2017. Dr. Fishman is an avid sports enthusiast and when he is not spending time with his wife and 4 daughters he loves to travel and run long distances.

Biography: Dr. Wisser joined RMG in 2017, and prior to her moving to Denver, she spent five years in private practice with the Michigan Gastroenterology Institute. She has been serving as Associate Professor at Michigan State University where she received her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine & Bachelor of Human Sciences degrees. She completed her Internal Medicine residency & Gastroenterology fellowship at the Genesys Regional Medical Center in Michigan.

Care Philosophy: Dr. Weiner is the President of Rocky Mountain Gastroenterology. He earned his medical degree from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver, CO. He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at St. Joseph Hospital in Denver and went on to finish his fellowship in Gastroenterology at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver. Dr. Weiner completed additional training in Advanced Therapeutic Endoscopy at Gastroenterology Consultants in Racine, Wisconsin. Dr. Weiner is a principal with Rocky Mountain Clinical Research and he has conducted research in the areas of Ulcerative Colitis, Crohn?s Disease, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, and Diverticulitis. Dr. Weiner is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association, the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, the American College of Physicians, the Colorado Medical Society and the Denver Medical Society. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.

He went on to earn his medical degree from the University of ?Colorado School of Medicine in Aurora, CO, as well as completed his internship and residency there. Dr. Mackenzie attended the University of Utah in Salt Lake City for his fellowship in Gastroenterology. Dr. Mackenzie has won many awards including the Virginia Schuman Scholarship from the University of ?Colorado School of Medicine and the Howard Hughes Research Grant and President?s Scholarship from Colorado State University. Dr. Mackenzie has authored numerous publications, including research papers in Eosinophilic Esophagitis. Dr. Mackenzie is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Gastroenterological Association and the Colorado Medical Society. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.
