Biography: Dr. Navinder Sawhney graduated from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO in 2000. After completing his residency and internship at Washington University Barnes-Jewish Hospital, Dr. Sawhney completed his fellowships at the University of California at San Diego in both Cardiology and Electrophysiology. Dr. Sawhney specializes in arrhythmia management and is sub-specialty board-certified in cardiology and in cardiac electrophysiology. He is active in clinical research and has lead investigations on the optimal approach to catheter based ablation of atrial fibrillation and the optimal programming for cardiac resynchronization therapy devices. He has published numerous articles and written several textbook chapters on arrhythmia management. His clinical practice involves the management of atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, supraventricular tachycardias, ventricular tachycardia, pacemakers, defibrillators and cardiac resynchronization therapy devices. He has the most current techniques and is leading the program on left atrial appendage closure to help prevent strokes in patients with atrial fibrillation. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two children.

I strongly believe that my patients are best served when they gain a complete understanding of their heart rhythm problems and are able to participate in choosing the treatment options that best suit them. My role is to facilitate this process and ensure that each of my patients receives individualized care based on current guidelines and evidence-based practice.
