Biography: Dr. Thomas Leon Schaefer is a highly accomplished physician with dedicated service in primary care, hospital medicine, and skilled nursing facilities. Dr. Schaefer's educational background includes a Doctor of Medicine (MD) from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and a Bachelor of Science (BS) from the University of Notre Dame. He completed his residency in Family Practice at Forbes Health System and a transitional year at Hamot Hospital. Board-certified by the American Board of Family Practice, Dr. Schaefer holds additional qualifications in Geriatric Medicine and Sports Medicine. Dr. Schaefer has served as a Locum Tenens Primary Care Physician with SeniorLife in York, PA. His extensive experience includes serving as Medical Director at the Veterans Community Based Outpatient Center in Washington, PA, and as a Family Physician at Somerset Family Practice. He has also held significant roles as Medical Director at The Patriot Skilled Nursing Facility and Baldwin Health Center.
