She earned her undergraduate degree from the City University of New York at Queens College where she was awarded the Queens College Merit Scholarship (now known as the Macaulay Honors College) and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. Dr Sun went on to the Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University to attain her medical degree. Passionate about having a comprehensive understanding of all medical aspects of the human body, she stayed on at Albert Einstein College to complete her residency in Internal Medicine.
