We've been married for about three decades and have two children. My husband and I moved to Greensboro in 2020 and are enjoying being closer to family. I love spending time with family - which includes our dog - and cooking, gardening, hiking and traveling.

Biography: Ronnie Barrier, MD, brings more than 25 years of experience in family medicine. He especially likes getting to know and treat entire families. Dr. Barrier views every day as a chance to learn something new and work hard while providing care. Outside of work, Dr. Barrier enjoys spending time with his wife, Shalyn, and daughter, Whitley. His hobbies include raising donkeys, yard work, gardening, hunting and fishing. He is active in the community, serving as medical director for Rowan County EMS and working with Liberty Volunteer Fire Department. Dr. Barrier is also team physician for East Rowan High School.

Biography: Dr. Takashi Hirata understands how complex medical care can seem and tries to simplify the process for his patients. Family medicine allows him to care for the entire family under one roof. Dr. Hirata is proud to be part of a practice small enough to offer personal attention but large enough to provide comprehensive care. While he likes seeing a variety of patients, Dr. Hirata has a particular interest in office procedures, sports medicine, fracture management, adolescent issues and women's health issues. When he is not spending time with his patients, Dr. Hirata enjoys spending time with his own family. He and his wife have two active boys and love cheering for Tarheel sports, going to the beach or exploring in the woods.
