Biography: Dr. Voelker completed her undergraduate studies at Syracuse University, where she obtained degrees in both Biology and Psychology. Biography: Dr. DellaCava received her undergraduate degree from Wesleyan University and her medical degree from Jefferson Medical College. She completed internship and residency at Montefiore Medical Center, where she served as Outpatient Chief in her final year, and completed an administrative fellowship as Senior Chief Resident. She subsequently completed a fellowship in geriatric psychiatry at New York Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medicine. Dr. DellaCava has pursued academic research to improve communication in medical students and to decrease loneliness in older adults. The interventions she has developed build skills derived from improvisational theater. She has implemented a program using these skills in a medical education setting, and she has completed a pilot project looking at the feasibility and acceptability of this intervention in older adults. She has presented at national conferences regarding these topics.Dr. DellaCava's professional interests include medical student and resident education, geriatric psychiatry, loneliness and social isolation in adults, and psychotherapy.

Biography: Dr. John Mahlstedt attended Union College where he obtained a bachelor of arts in managerial economics and graduated Summa Cum Laude and was selected for the Phi Beta Kappa honor society. There he earned numerous other honors, including awards for academic excellence and service to the college community. He then went on to earn his Medical Degree from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, where he earned an award for his research work and earned honors in various clerkships for clinical excellence, including psychiatry. Dr. John Mahlstedt then went on to complete his internship and residency in adult psychiatry at NewYork-Presbyterian / Columbia University Medical Center and served as Chief Resident during his last year of residency. Dr. Mahlstedt then went on to complete fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at both of the Cornell and Columbia campuses of NewYork-Presbyterian hospital. During his fellowship, Dr. Mahlstedt earned the Edward J Sachar Award for excellence inclinical care. Dr. Mahlstedt welcomes patients to his practice for diagnostic evaluations, consultations, psychotherapy and medication management.

Biography: Dr. Conroy completed her undergraduate education at the College of Mount Saint Vincent, where she graduated summa cum laude with a B.S. in Biology. She was awarded the Trustee Scholarship to attend New York Medical College where she received her medical degree. She completed her residency training in general psychiatry at NewYork-Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center. She then pursued a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at the NewYork-Presbyterian combined program of Cornell and Columbia Universities. She served as one of the chief residents during the final year of her fellowship training. She has additional training in Trauma and Panic-Focused Psychodynamic Psychotherapy. She has an interest in physician wellness and has provided a Stress Management and Resiliency Training for Residents course to both child and adolescent psychiatry and pediatric residents. As an Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychiatry at Weill Cornell Medicine, she supervises trainees on the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Outpatient Service at the Westchester Behavioral Health Center.

Biography: Jimmy N Avari, M.D., is currently an Associate Professor of Psychiatry at Weill Cornell Medicine and an Assistant Attending Psychiatrist in the Department of Psychiatry at NewYork-Presbyterian Westchester Behavioral Health Center. Dr. Avari is the Training Director of the Weill Cornell Medicine Geriatric Psychiatry Fellowship Program and the Associate Residency Training Director of the Adult Psychiatry Residency.Dr. Avari completed his psychiatry residency at Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center, where he was selected as Chief Resident. He then completed his Geriatric Psychiatry fellowship at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center.Dr. Avari is a well-recognized educator at Weill Cornell Medicine, having served as the Training Director of the Geriatric Psychiatry Fellowship Program and the Assistant Residency Training Director of the Adult Psychiatry Residency from 2014-2020. From 2020- 2021, Dr. Avari served as the Interim Residency Training Director of the Adult Psychiatry Residency and in 2022 was named the Associate Residency Training Director. During this time, he has continued in his role as the Geriatric Psychiatry Fellowship Program Director. Dr. Avari has also been involved in individual and group mentoring programs of residents, fellows, and junior faculty members.Dr. Avari spent much of his career as an inpatient psychiatrist on the Addiction Recovery Service and the "Haven," a general psychiatry unit that treats patients from an affluent socioeconomic background with a variety of psychiatric disorders. Dr. Avari was a leader in the planning and development of the NewYork-Presbyterian Westchester Behavioral Health Center Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit- an inpatient psychiatry unit designed to provide intensive assessment and comprehensive treatment to individuals during the most acute phase of a serious mental illness. In 2022, Dr. Avari was appointed to be the Division Director of Specialty Inpatient Services, which includes inpatient programming dedicated to the treatment of patients with substance use disorders, eating disorders, those with late-life illnesses, and the psychiatric intensive care unit and stepdown unit. He also directs the neuromodulation services at NewYork-Presbyterian Westchester Behavioral Health Center. Dr. Avari's clinical research focusses on the development of novel treatments of late-life psychiatric disorders. He has worked with the Weill Cornell Institute of Geriatric Psychiatry since 2010.Dr. Avari has written extensively and published in many journals, including the International Journal of Geriatric Psychiatry, the American Journal of Geriatric Psychiatry and Academic Psychiatry. He has also written many book chapters and presented his work at many domestic and international conferences.
