Biography: Dr. Vega was born and raised in Houston, TX. She Attended Pomona College in California and received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. She then proceeded to the University of Kansas School of Medicine to complete her doctorate of medicine. She finally returned to her Texas home for residency at University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. During residency her research focus was in contraceptive access , and she successfully published and original research project to the Contraception Journal titled Over-the-Counter Access to Levonorgestrel Emergency Contraception in South Texas: Does Over-the Counter Mean ready to buy?.She is excited to return to Houston and has a large Honduran and Mexican family welcoming her back. In her free-time she enjoys weekend trips, hiking, and spending time with her partner and cat Dobby.

Biography: Dr. Amer Alanbari, a board-certified Internal Medicine Specialist, performed a pulmonary fellowship at the University of Nancy France. In 1992, he completed his internal medicine training at Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn, NY, following a residency at the University of Toronto. Dr. Alanbari ran a solo Internal Medicine Clinic in Paterson, NJ from 1993-2005. Before joining our center in 2024, he served as a hospitalist at multiple institutions, including McAllen Medical Center, McAllen Heart Hospital, and Doctors Hospital at Renaissance, as well as the Rio Grande Regional Hospital and Solara Hospital, spanning from 2005 to 2020. Dr. Alanbari worked with multiple clinics with ASAS Corporation from 2021 to June of 2024. His academic appointments have included serving as an attending physician at St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center in New Jersey and leading teaching rounds at Corner-Stone Hospital and Edinburg Regional Medical Center in South Texas. Dr. Alanbari is passionate about addressing diabetes, heart health, and obesity, safeguarding the quality of life of seniors. He believes listening to patients is vital to their well-being. Married with five grown children, he enjoys spending time with family, cooking, and the outdoors.
