Biography: Dr. Blank graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania and received her medical degree from Weill Cornell Medical College, where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honors society. She completed her medical internship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. She returned to Weill Cornell Medical College for her dermatology residency, where she served as chief resident during her final year and received a Distinguished Housestaff Award for all-around excellence. Biography: Dr. Katy Burris is a board certified dermatologist in the Department of Dermatology of Columbia University Medical Center (CUMC) who sees patients in the Columbia Doctors Third Avenue office. Dr. Burris graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelors of Science in Public Health with Honors. She then attended the SUNY Downstate School of Medicine where she was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. Dr. Burris prides herself on providing superior care with utmost compassion and sensitivity for all patients, and has been recognized as intern of the year at St-Luke's Roosevelt in 2008, Kings County Dermatology resident of the year in 2011, and Kings County Dermatology attending physician of the Year in 2013. Biography: Dr. Salvatore Caruana is the Director of the Division of Head and Neck Surgery in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital Columbia University Medical Center. He is a widely respected head and neck surgeon in the forefront of the surgical treatment of tumors of the mouth pharynx, larynx and sinuses, parathyroid surgery, thyroid gland, and salivary glands. He is a pioneer in laser microsurgery for pharyngeal and laryngeal cancers. Dr. Caruana is an Associate Clinical Professor of Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery at the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. Dr. Caruana graduated cum laude from the University of Buffalo and completed his Doctor of Medicine at Mount Sinai School of Medicine. His general surgery training at St. Vincent's Hospital and Medical Center was followed by a residency in Otolaryngology at New York Eye and Ear Infirmary. He then completed an NIH funded two-and-a-half-year fellowship in Head and Neck Surgical Oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Dr. Caruana's peer-reviewed research has included work centering upon the biological nature of several head and neck cancers and on the role of viruses in malignancies of the paranasal sinuses.
