Biography: Dr. David Diaz opened Great Oaks Family Practice in 2004, but has been practicing Family Medicine in Central Texas since 1993. He was raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico and received his college education at Valparaiso University in Valparaiso, Indiana. He then received his graduate degree at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas and served his internship and residency at Southern Colorado Family Medicine in Pueblo, Colorado. He currently lives in Austin with his wife, Lisa, and his two children. Dr. Diaz enjoys traveling and visiting the local state parks where his family partakes in hiking, camping, and other outdoor activities. He is an avid mountain biker and if you see him limping on Monday, it's probably from a crash at Barton Creek or Walnut Creek greenbelt! Dr. Diaz's personal philosophy of medicine centers around encouraging patients – through education – to take better care of themselves. It is always better to prevent problems than to try to treat them down the road.
