Biography: Growing up in Pleasant Grove, I feel like returning to Utah to provide care for those in Utah County is like coming home. I began my journey 28 years ago when I started my service with the United States Navy. The last 11 years of my military service was as a Family Medicine physician. During my time in the military, I had many wonderful experiences throughout the world, caring for military families and others with a wide variety of medical conditions. My wife and family of five are happy to be in Utah, and I am excited to bring my experience to the patients in our south Utah County communities. It's good to be home. I recently joined Canyon View Medical Group following the retirement of Dr. Tracy Frandsen. I'm a board-certified Family Medicine physician.

Care Philosophy: Dr. Porter focuses on functional or integrative medicine - treating the root causes of illness and not just the symptoms. This approach is a much more personalized approach than conventional medicine and is based in determining underlying issues to health instead of masking symptoms with prescriptions. He uses a blend of eastern and western medicine to help his patients live healthier, happier lives. Much of this philosophy is centered in healing the gut and ensuring that your body is receiving the proper nutrients and supplements. He's spent much of his career focusing on physical, holistic, neurological and nutritional care. He has had success treating lyme disease, sibo, hashimoto's, depression, migraines, joint pain, chronic illness, thyroid issues, hormone imbalances, and much more. He believes in the healing nature of PRP and Stem Cell injections.
