Biography: Dr. Christopher Jude Foti, a board-certified family medicine physician and obesity medicine specialist, completed his family medicine residency at LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, LA, following his medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine, Shreveport, in 2005. With extensive experience in primary care and weight management, Dr. Foti is dedicated to patient-centered education and ongoing professional growth. Before joining our center in 2024, Dr. Foti served nearly a decade as a primary care physician with FMOL Health System in Baton Rouge, LA. He also practiced at Quick Trim Medical Weight Loss Clinic in Alexandria and provided urgent care via telemedicine on the Amwell platform. Earlier roles included positions at LGMC Urgent Care in Lafayette, Kistachie Medical Center in Alexandria, and Marksville Family Care Center, focusing on primary and urgent care. Care Philosophy: Dr. Mercado attended medical school on a full-tuition scholarship at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City. He completed a six-year urologic residency at Baylor College of Medicine, Scott Department of Urology at the Texas Medical Center in Houston. Looking to remain in Texas, Dr. Mercado joined Texas Urology Specialists. As a native Spanish speaker, he enjoys the diversity of his patient population, which allows him to treat a wide variety of urological needs and utilize his extensive training in minimally invasive surgery. Dr. Mercado and his wife have two wonderful children and enjoy living in The Woodlands. In his free time, he enjoys scuba diving, skiing, and bike riding.
