Care Philosophy: I strive to provide high quality health care to women, especially during some of the most important moments in their lives. I hope to empower and educate my patients in all aspects of their health. OMC prides itself on being a leading innovator in, and advocate for, women's health and wellness. The practice began in 1962. Its founders were affiliated with Methodist Hospital and St Luke's, and most shared a common foundation of training at the esteemed Baylor College of Medicine. At that time, the medical center of Houston was focused on building its reputation as the premier US cardiovascular center (think Michael DeBakey and Denton Cooley). OB/GYN was not a priority focus of the hospital, and OMC founders set out to change that. Their dream of creating a center devoted to women and the fostering of the family unit was soon realized. They banded together with a handful of other like minded OB/GYN doctors, and personally borrowed the money to build The Woman's Hospital of Texas (TWH) the first facility in Texas dedicated to the health of women and newborns. Still today, TWH is the state's premier facility dedicated to the health of women and children, offering expertise and an outstanding level of care in breast health, imaging, gynecology, urogynecology, The physician group of OMC today continues the founding physicians' legacy of advancements in women's gynecological health and obstetrics. Due to inter-operability of technology, we are able to connect with the patient in different ways throughout the journey of their pregnancy than ever before. We are pioneering remote monitoring of OB patients through a partnership with Babyscripts, and have just launched a new wellness initiative with Iron Health and March of Dimes. We have built an in-house hormone lab, an imaging facility specializing in women's imaging, and are participants in ongoing joint clinical obgyn research projects for the benefit of our patients. Research partners include Javara and MD Anderson. Our mission to improve the lives of women drives everything we do. OMC delivers over 1600 babies a year. We strive to provide a very personal healthcare experience for our patients, and as a result, have the unique privilege of providing multigenerational care for our patient families.
