Biography: Dr. Waheed graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Anthropology from East Carolina University. She pursued her Medical Doctorate (MD) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine where she received the prestigious William deB. Due to her work in this field, Dr. Waheed has gained recognition as a rising subject matter expert, earning invitations to speak regionally and nationally. Dr. Waheed has also dedicated her time as a member of the American Society of Hematology (ASH), contributing to the ASH/Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Collaboration and Advocacy Leadership Institute, serving as an abstract reviewer, moderating sessions at the annual meeting, and participating on the subcommittee for Systems Based Hematology. On behalf of ASH, she has also met with several members of Congress in Washington, DC to advocate for the needs of hematology patients.
