Further, he completed post-baccalaureate studies in biochemistry as well as graduate coursework and research in human and animal genetics. He graduated medical school from the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham, AL, and completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at the Missouri Orthopaedic Institute, in Columbia, MO.
