Biography: David DeNofrio, MD is the Medical Director of the Advanced Heart Failure Program at Tufts Medical Center which has performed the most heart transplants in New England over the past five years. Biography: Michael S. Kiernan, MD, MS, MBA is the Medical Director of the Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) Program and an Assistant Professor at Tufts University School of Medicine. He specializes in cardiomyopathies, heart failure, cardiac transplantation and ventricular assist devices. His research focus areas include physiology of mechanical circulatory support and cardiorenal interactions in heart failure. He has received numerous awards including the Teaching Award from the Department of Medicine at Tufts Medical Center in 2010 and the Excellence in Medicine Award from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine in 2004. Biography: Gaurav Gulati, MD is a cardiologist in Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology and an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Tufts University School of Medicine. He specializes in cardiomyopathies, heart failure, heart transplantation, ventricular assist devices (VAD) and cardiogenic shock. Biography: Yong Zhan, MD graduated from China Medical University in Shenyang, China. After completing a surgical residency at the University Hospital of China Medical University, he moved to Boston. He went on to pursue research fellowships at University of Massachusetts Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital. He then completed a surgical residency at New York Methodist Hospital of Weill Cornell Medical College, followed by cardiothoracic surgery training at Brigham and Women's Hospital. In addition, Dr. Zhan obtained training in endovascular surgery at Brigham and Women's Hospital. Dr. Zhan is board certified in cardiothoracic surgery by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery. He specializes in adult cardiac surgery. Dr. Zhan's research and clinical interests included endovascular surgery for valvular diseases and aortic aneurysms, coronary artery bypass graft, arrhythmia surgery, minimally invasive surgery, aortic surgery, heart transplantation and implantation of ventricular assist devices. Dr. Zhan holds memberships in the Society of Thoracic Surgeons and American Heart Association. Care Philosophy: Dr Jeanney Lew received her medical degree from the University of Florida. She completed her Internal Medicine training and Chief Resident year at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and her General Cardiology training at the Texas Heart Institute in Houston. She then completed her Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital.
