Biography: A board-certified, award-winning OB/GYN specialist, Dr. Neda Hashemi offers her compassion and experience to members of the Reston, Virginia, community at Reston Women's Center.Dr. Hashemi received her Bachelor of Science from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia, and attended the Medical College of Virginia, where she received a Master of Science in Physiology and Endocrinology.After earning her medical degree at the same university, she pursued the field of OB/GYN during her residency with some of the most renowned surgeons at Franklin Square Hospital in Baltimore.The recipient of numerous accolades, including multiple scientific research awards, Dr. Hashemi has been voted the best teaching resident-physician in her field. She is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and a Diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is the director of Minimally Invasive Gynecological Surgery at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital.Dr. Hashemi enjoys being a member of the local community and volunteers in underprivileged communities in Virginia. A married mother of two children, she is fluent in English and Farsi and intermediate in Spanish.Dedicated to meeting the needs of her patients, Dr. Hashemi works late on Wednesdays to accommodate working parents and every other Saturdays for patients who find it difficult to visit the office during the week.

Biography: Dr. Contreras completed her undergraduate studies at Xavier University of Louisiana with a BS in biology. She then attended East Carolina Brody School of Medicine and completed her residency at East Carolina University-Pitt County Memorial Hospital, Greenville, NC. She is a member of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the American Medical Association, and the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists. A native of Durham, North Carolina, Dr. Contreras moved to Southern Maryland in 2011. Dr. Contreras enjoys cooking, baking and traveling with her husband Dr. Contreras. She has two children Amaya and Roman and a cuddly hamster, Keko. Dr. Contreras has a special interest in high-risk obstetrics and posterior vaginal support.

Care Philosophy: Patient-centered care is the core principle of my practice. It's about you. That's why I focus on giving you medical evidence, options and the tools to discern so you can make informed choices instead of telling you what to do. Whenever possible, I use telemedicine to help us come to you instead of you waiting in my office even during pregnancy. As a Navy brat we moved a lot. My family always envied people who had deep roots in their community. After practicing in Henrico for almost 25 years, I love that I am rooted. One of the most enriching aspects of my practice is the long-term relationships I have with women I respect and their families.
