Biography: Whitney A. Booker, MD, MS is a double-board certified physician in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Maternal-Fetal Medicine, nationally recognized for providing care in prenatal fetal diagnosis and high-risk maternal medicine. She specializes in advanced ultrasound imaging, prenatal diagnostic genetic testing and treatment of women with rare medical conditions in pregnancy. In addition to her clinical care, Dr. Booker is a physician-scientists with multiple sources of University and NIH grant funding, with a research focus on cardiovascular disease and hypertension in pregnancy. Beyond her interest in hypertension, Dr. Booker also specializes in pregnancies of women conceived by IVF, advanced maternal age and various other rare maternal medical conditions. Additionally, she is trained in cerclage placement and takes care of pregnancies at risk for preterm birth. Dr. Booker is a proud graduate of Columbia's Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science (SEAS '05), where she received her undergraduate BS in Biomedical Engineering. She was a nationally recruited Division I athlete at Columbia, where she was recognized as an All-Ivy League lacrosse player. She attended medical school in Chicago at University of Illinois, where she was an active member and served in multiple leadership roles in the Student National Medical Association (SNMA), leading initiatives in supporting Black and Latino medical students and concurrently addressing the needs of underserved patients in the urban community. Dr. Booker went on to complete residency in New York City at Mt. Sinai Hospital, where she was selected for the Gold Humanism Society in recognition of her excellence in humanistic patient care, leadership, compassion, and dedication to teaching and service. Following residency, she returned to Columbia, where she completed a fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine in 2019. She as served as faculty at Columbia since 2019, where she as developed a busy clinical practice, providing consultation and prenatal care to women with high-risk pregnancies. Her national leadership experience, research, and rigorous clinical training has supported her passion and dedication to reducing ethnic and racial disparities in maternal health in the community.

Biography: Dr. Corrina Oxford-Horrey is one of the few Obstetric Intensivists in the United States. She completed her medical school training at Howard University College of Medicine followed by an Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at Pennsylvania Hospital. In 2010, she went on to become the 9th person in the country with fellowship training and board certification in Maternal-Fetal Medicine and Critical Care Anesthesia. Both of her fellowships were completed at the Brigham & Women's Hospital where she stayed on faculty with a dual appointment in the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine and Department of Surgery. While at Brigham & Women's Hospital, she cared for critically ill mothers and served as attending faculty in the Surgical ICU, Thoracic Intermediate Care and Burn-Trauma Units.In 2012, she joined the University of Pennsylvania Health System where she spent 3 years as the Director of Obstetric Services at Pennsylvania Hospital maintaining her clinical focus on high acuity maternal care and administrative efforts in Quality Improvement and Patient Safety. She subsequently led the Critical Care Obstetrics and In-situ Simulation curriculum at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where she was also the Co-Director of the Pregnancy and Heart Disease Program. Outside of her clinical duties in Maternal-Fetal Medicine, she served on the Philadelphia Maternal Mortality Review Board.Her publications include journal articles and chapters on hemodynamics of pregnancy, care of the pregnant surgical patient, and trauma in pregnancy. She has been the recipient of many teaching awards in her career and believes in "paying it forward" with mentorship of upcoming clinicians with particular enthusiasm for the care of high-risk obstetric patients.Dr. Oxford-Horrey brings her expertise to Weill Cornell Medical Center as the Director of Labor and Delivery, where she will continue to use simulation and collaborative care models to ensure the safest and highest quality inpatient experience for our patients.
