Biography: Dr. Balogh was born in Romania and received his medical education there before immigrating to the United States. In addition to his European medical training in anesthesia and critical care, he interned and was an Internal Medicine resident at Mt. Sinai Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. Biography: Dr. Nelson was born in Chicago, the youngest of four children and the only daughter. She moved to Atlanta, Ga., as a child. Inspired by her desire to help others and her interest in healthcare, she received her undergraduate education at Emory University, receiving a bachelor of science in chemistry, which paved the way for her interest in medicine. She then attended Sint Eustatius University School of Medicine in the Netherland Antilles, where she obtained a bachelor of science in medicine followed by her medical degree. Subsequently, she completed a four-year residency in internal medicine and pediatrics at LSU Health Science Center in Shreveport. In October 2010, Dr. Nelson moved to our practice at WK Pierremont Health Center. She is a board certified internist (American Board of Internal Medicine), primarily in the outpatient setting. Her focus is establishing a close and professional relationship with each of her patients. She prides herself in giving each patient ample time to provide education, instruction, counseling, and allow time to answer questions and concerns. After graduating from Parkway High School, he obtained his Bachelor's Degree from The Louisiana Scholars' College at Northwestern State University. After he earned his M.D. from LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, he also completed residency there and had the honor of serving as chief resident in the Department of Family Medicine. Dr. Milligan chose the specialty of Family Medicine because of his love of getting to know and treat families across generations. While he is skilled in all aspects of family medicine, Dr. Milligan particularly enjoys adolescent medicine, preventative medicine, women's health, and takes a keen interest in diagnosing and treating common skin conditions.
