Biography: James Bush, MD, is a board-certified family medicine specialist with Appomattox River Primary Care in Colonial Heights and Hopewell, Virginia. Dr. Bush earned his Medical Doctorate from the Medical College of Virginia and completed his combined Internal Medicine and Pediatric residency at Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from George Mason University. Dr. Bush is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Pediatrics, bringing more than 20 years of professional experience to Appomattox River Primary Care. In addition to his practice, he serves on the board of directors for Virginia Care Partners and is the chief medical officer for TriCities Hospital. Dr. Bush is the recipient of numerous "Top Doc in Family Medicine" awards, presented by Richmond Magazine.

Biography: Dr. Barnes specializes in sports medicine surgery. He was initially drawn to orthopedic and sports medicine while being involved in athletics. Dr. Barnes enjoys the opportunity to take care of patients of all ages and his goal is to get patients back to their hobbies, whether that is high level athletics or recreational activities. He finds that orthopedics and sports medicine are constantly changing and evolving and require you to be a lifelong learner, staying up to date on the most cutting-edge treatments and surgical innovations. In his free time, Dr. Barnes spends time with his family, travels, does videography and aerial photography, enjoys going to National Parks, hiking, running, cycling, playing tennis and golf, watching Liverpool Football Club, attending concerts and playing guitar.
