Biography: Dr. Ashish Kapila grew up in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He graduated from Lehigh University in 2006 with a dual bachelor's degree in Behavioral Neuroscience and Religion Studies. He then went on to attend Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery. Dr. Kapila was President of his class for the last two years of podiatry school, and received the Leadership Award for his class. After receiving his Doctorate of Podatric Medicine, Dr. Kapila completed his 3-year podiatric medicine, foot and rearfoot reconstructive surgery residency at South Miami Hospital - Baptist Health South Florida in June 2013. Dr. Kapila is extensively trained in reconstructive surgery of the foot and ankle, trauma, limb salvage, wound care, pediatrics, orthotics, arthroscopic surgery and diabetic foot care. He was also co-author for "A Guide to Preventative Offloading of Diabetic Foot Ulcers", in December 2011. Dr. Kapila is a Diplomate of the American Board of Podiatric Medicine, and Board Qualified in Foot Surgery by the American Board of Foot & Ankle Surgery. In his spare time, Dr. Kapila enjoys traveling the world, immersing himself in many different cultures; he has visited 44 countries of the world. He stays active and also likes cooking, wine, food, and photography.
