Biography: Michael J. Amirian, MD, a urologic surgeon, is an assistant professor of clinical urology at Weill Cornell Medicine and an attending surgeon in the division of urology at NewYork-Presbyterian Queens. He is board certified in urology and urologic surgery and has advanced training in stone disease, voiding dysfunction, and robotic surgery.Dr. Amirian has been practicing for more than nine years, providing medical and surgical treatment for conditions, including kidney stones, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), and erectile dysfunction. He is a dedicated physician and utilizes the latest technology to deliver high quality and personalized care to his patients. He delivers lectures and presentations on medical urology ans surgical procedures and has published book chapters, abstracts, and research in an array of national and international medical journals.Dr. Amirian earned his medical degree from SUNY Downstate College of Medicine and completed his general surgery residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. He remained there to complete his residency in urologic surgery, where he was named Chief Resident in his final year. Biography: Roger Patrn-Lozano, MD, is a colorectal surgeon at New York-Presybyterian Medical Group Queens and an assistant professor in clinical surgery at Weill Cornell Medicine. He specializes in robotic and minimally invasive surgery and has an expertise in treating inflammatory bowel disease, rectal prolapse, diverticular disease and colon and rectal cancers. Dr. Patrn-Lozano has been published in numerous medical journals, including the Journal of the American College of Surgeons, the Journal of Gastrointestinal Surgery, The Journal of Surgical Research and more. He has presented his research at annual medical meetings including the Digestive Disease Week and as an invited lecturer and facilitator at Yale University on topics, including trauma and emergency general surgery, and endoscopic surgery. Dr. Patrn-Lozano is a candidate member of the American College of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, a member of the Yale Surgical Society, and a reviewer for the journal Diseases of the Colon and Rectum. After graduating from Anahuac University School of Medicine in Mexico, Dr. Patrn-Lozano completed his general surgery residency at Yale-New Haven Hospital at Yale School of Medicine and served his fellowship in colon and rectal surgery at Indiana University Medical Center.
