Biography: Dr. Rahul Prakash is a graduate of the Maulana Azad Medical College in New Delhi, India. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Northeastern Ohio University College of Medicine affiliated hospitals in Canton, Ohio and finished his fellowship in nephrology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX. Board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine as a diplomat in nephrology, Dr. Prakash has been in practice in the Memorial, Spring Branch, and Katy Area since 1994. He specializes in nephrology and has clinical interests in hypertension, chronic kidney disease, kidney stones, dialysis in the blood, or protein in the urine. Treating patients 17 years and older, Dr. Prakash aim is to provide the best possible medical care with compassion. He believes in education his patients and motivating them to be involved in their care. He speaks Hindi and Urdu and his staff members speak Spanish. Dr. Prakash has served as a chief of staff at Memorial Hermann Rehabilittation Hospital-Katy and chief of the department of Medicine at Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital. He is a founding member of his group- Renal Clinic of Houston. He has participated in medical missions to India and is involved in training foreign physicians to run dialysis clinics in their countries. A member of the American Society of Nephrology, Renal Physician Association, Harris County Medical Society, Texas Medical Association, and American Associations of Physicians of Indian Origin, Dr. Prakash has authored research papers in medical journals including the American Journal of Kidney Disease and American Journal of Hypertension
