Biography: Dr Kottapalli is a board certified Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist and Adult Psychiatrist. She has been practicing for 17 years. She has served in leadership roles for over a decade in Outpatient/ In-patient settings. She specializes in a wide range of psychiatric disorders that span from childhood to adulthood. She has special interest in the areas of first break psychosis. She is holistic in her approach and believes in individualizing treatment for each patient. Dr Kottapalli trained in General Adult Psychiatry at Case Western Reserve University at University Hospitals of Cleveland and continued her fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Case as well. She was a Medical Director of an Outpatient Child and Adolescent clinic in Ohio for 10 years and later switched to Adult In patient unit, during this time she was teaching residents, fellows and medical students from the local universities. She is an Associate Professor of Psychiatry at North Eastern Ohio Medical University. She also is affiliated with University of Toledo Medical School and Ohio University. She is very passionate about teaching and believes that contributing towards education is the best way to give back to the community. Dr Kottapalli is excited to be the Associate Program Director of Psychiatry and Clinical Director of our outpatient Psychiatry program. She is very proud to be part of the University of Central Florida core faculty, as an Assistant Clinical Professor involved with the clinical training, education and mentoring of medical students and psychiatry residents.
