Biography: Dr. Eric Goldwaser, D.O., Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Weill Cornell Medicine / New York-Presbyterian Hospital. He completed a Medical-Scientist Training Program at Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine (then UMDNJ), where his research focused on the blood-brain barrier and vascular implications of neurodegenerative diseases in pre-clinical models. He completed his psychiatry residency training at University of Maryland / Sheppard Pratt as part of the Physician-Scientist Training Program, where he bridged clinical neuroscience research in MRI and vascular imaging modalities to study the blood-brain barrier in psychiatric conditions. His clinical training included psychopharmacology, various insight-oriented psychotherapeutic techniques, and novel psychiatric interventions, like brain stimulation and psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy. As faculty, Dr. Goldwaser continues his research in the neurovascular processes in health and disease states that govern behavior and treatment.

Biography: Dr. Scalora received her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Columbia University, where she specialized in evidence-based therapies and young adult mental health and wellness. Dr. Scalora developed and launched an integrative biopsychosocial mind-body-spirit intervention and two-year research study for young adult college students at Columbia University and Barnard College. Prior to her doctoral studies, Dr. Scalora obtained a master's degree in psychology in education from Columbia University with a concentration in mind-body-spirit psychology and worked as the Director of Research at the Integrative Wellness Center at Teachers College, Columbia University. Dr. Scalora's research focuses on developing and evaluating the effectiveness of biopsychosocial mind-body-spirit interventions for mood, trauma, and stress-related disorders.Dr. Scalora completed her post-doctoral fellowship at Weill Cornell Medical College, specializing in college student mental health, and her pre-doctoral clinical internship at Maimonides Medical Center. She has trained in inpatient, intensive outpatient, and outpatient psychotherapy settings. Additionally, she has worked with several treatment modalities, including dialectical behaviortherapy (DBT), cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), cognitive processing therapy (CPT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT).Having completed her academic and clinical training in diverse settings, Dr. Scalora brings years of experience working with adults from diverse racial and cultural backgrounds, gender identities, and sexual orientations. She has a deep understanding of the multiple layers of identity and environmental factors that influence treatment. Dr. Scalora is committed to providing the highest quality of care through a thoughtful, individually tailored, and integrative approach that utilizes evidence-based therapies.

Biography: Dr. Oberlin obtained her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology and Biological and Health Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh. Throughout her doctoral training, Dr. Oberlin worked in a variety of clinical settings and developed a specialty in geriatric mental health and adult neuropsychology. She completed her clinical internship in adult psychology and neuropsychology at New York University Langone Health within the Department of Neurorehabilitation. She obtained postdoctoral training at the Weill Cornell Institute of Geriatric Psychiatry.Dr. Oberlin's primary expertise is in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and behavioral medicine, though she integrates other empirically-based modalities including mindfulness, Interpersonal Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Her research interests include identifying and refining novel treatments for mood disorders in aging, and using brain imaging techniques to evaluate the mechanisms underlying new and promising interventions.

Biography: Dr. Stephanie Chiaoattended University of California at Berkeley, where she graduated magna cum laude with highest honors. Following her undergraduate studies, she received her medical degree from the University of California San Francisco School of Medicine. She completed residency training in internal medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern, where she received awards for excellence as a house officer. After internal medicine residency, she completed general psychiatry residency and addiction psychiatry fellowship at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medicine. During her residency training, she was selected as an American Psychiatric Association (APA)/Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) Minority Health Fellow and conducted research on Asian American patients engaging in psychotherapy. Dr. Chiao joined the faculty at the Weill Cornell School of Medicine in 2022. Since then, she has been an attending physician on the psychiatric consultation-liaison service, supervising and teaching residents and fellows performing psychiatric evaluations on patients in medical and surgical settings. In addition, she maintains an active faculty practice in addiction psychiatry and psychotherapy. She works with patients with a broad range of life challenges and psychological diagnoses, using a variety of therapeutic modalities. She is trained in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy and is currently a candidate in Adult Psychoanalysis at the Columbia Center for Psychoanalytic Research.
