Biography: Dr. Shibayama graduated from the University of Illinois College of Medicine with honors and is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. He attended Northwestern University for his undergraduate training, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering. His orthopedic residency training was completed in Miami, Florida, at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital. In 2006, he completed a one-year fellowship in Spine Surgery at the Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Shibayama is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr. Shibayama's practice encompasses surgery of the spine. His special interests include minimally invasive spine surgery, robotic spine surgery, and cervical (neck) spinal disorders. He currently treats patients at TOA's Smyrna location. Dr. Shibayama enjoys spending time with his family, weightlifting, biking, swimming, disciplining and mentoring others, and traveling. He is a New Vision Baptist Church member, serving as a deacon.

Biography: Dr. David DeBoer is an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in hip and knee replacement surgery. He co-founded Southern Joint Replacement Institute in 1999 along with Michael Christie, MD. Their goal was to create a practice that combined quality patient care with state-of-the-art technology and cutting-edge research. Dr. DeBoer's medical education started and finished at Vanderbilt University, where he earned a medical doctorate and a master's degree in biomedical engineering. After finishing his residency in orthopaedic surgery at Vanderbilt Medical Center, Dr. DeBoer also completed a fellowship under Dr. Michael Christie at Vanderbilt. Dr. DeBoer is the Joint Replacement Research Program Director for Sarah Cannon Research Institute. His research focuses on improving the outcome of joint replacement surgery and the biomechanics of the hip and knee joints. He is currently the chairman of the Clinical Best Practice Committee on Joint Replacement Surgery for the 180 hospitals in the HCA Healthcare network. Care Philosophy: Dr. Wilson's goal for his patients is to reduce their pain while at the same time increase their level of function and quality of life. He accomplishes this through a comprehensive pain approach in which he utilizes physical therapy, othotics, interventional pain procedures and pain management.

Care Philosophy: I believe it is necessary to spend time with my patients talking about their lifestyle and associating that with their complaints. This allows me to determine if lifestyle modifications are necessary to help with their orthopaedic problems. Often, with Modifications, Physical Therapy, Anti-inflammatory Medication and Exercise, we can avoid surgery. When surgery is necessary, using procedures like arthroscopic and minimally invasive techniques, my patients get back to work and life more quickly.
