Biography: Dr. Robert J. Strauch is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of hand, wrist, and elbow problems in adults and children. He has a special interest in nerve problems of the upper extremity, including carpal tunnel syndrome, and in treating congenital hand disorders. The specialty of hand surgery melds together elements and principles of orthopedic, plastic, neurological and vascular surgery to restore and maximize hand and upper extremity function, whether wielding a jackhammer, throwing a baseball, or playing the violin. Dr. Strauch has authored and co-authored numerous articles in the field of hand surgery and is actively engaged in basic and clinical research. He served as President of the New York Society for Surgery of the Hand in 2006-2007. Dr. Strauch has been included in the list of New York Magazine's and "Best Doctors in New York" in addition to being regularly listed in America's Top Doctors. Trofa, MD, is an orthopedic sports medicine surgeon specializing in the operative and non-operative treatment of athletes of all ages and skill levels, including pediatric and adult patients. He is an expert in arthroscopic and open surgery of the knee, shoulder, and elbow. Dr. Trofa has a particlar intrest in advanced knee disorders and complex knee pathologies, focusing on cartilage restoration, non-surgical management of early arthritis, meniscus injuries, ligament reconstruction, knee dislocations, and patellofemoral disorders. His shoulder practice focuses on labral tears, SLAP tears, rotator cuff tears, and frozen shoulder; while his elbow expertise includes treatment for medial/lateral epicondylitis (tennis elbow), instability, and ligament reconstruction. Dr. Tofa also leverages the latest orthobiologic treatments in his practice, including platelet rich plasma (PRP), to provide athletes with a full spectrum of treatment options.
