Biography: I chose to become a doctor and specialize in internal medicine because I enjoy the investigative nature of the specialty and figuring out the best ways to help my patients. Once a diagnosis is made, Dr. Duncan believes that educating his patients about their condition and what outcomes they should expect is paramount. Except in urgent situations, non-surgical treatments usually precedes surgical treatment. If surgery is indicated, Dr. Duncan discusses available surgical options with his patients so that they can make an informed decision about their course of treatment. He believes that this type of patient-doctor relationship allows each unique patient to come to a decision that best matches their goals of treatment and best fits their overall health status.
