He believes that no topic is out of bounds and wants to be sure that patients feel comfortable telling him what is really going on in their lives. He has interests in working with geriatric patients, patients with sexual health concerns, and lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, and asexual (LGBTQIA ) patients. He consistently works to support LGBTQIA health with a special interest in and working with transgender & gender diverse individuals. In partnership with a clinical pharmacist, Dr. Haugland works to complete hormone management for transgender & gender diverse patients including puberty blockers, when needed, for youth. He follows WPATH standards of care.
