Biography: Dr. Alan Friedman is a leading OB/GYN who serves patients on Staten Island and the New York City area. At his practice, Dr. Friedman helps patients by offering numerous services including annual well-woman exams, access to birth control and family planning options, breast cancer screenings, menopause management, and complete obstetric care. Dr. Friedman graduated from the State University of New York's Downstate Medical Center in 1990 and attended Touro College. He completed his residency at St. Luke's Roosevelt Hospital in New York from 1990 to 1994. He is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He established his practice in 1995. The practice has been described by patients as friendly, caring, respectful, and compassionate. Dr. Friedman himself is known for being warm and professional. Dr. Friedman is devoted to providing excellent medical care to patients in a welcoming and kind office setting. The practice is accessible from both the S74 and S76 bus lines and Dr. Friedman offers service to both Spanish and Hebrew speakers. When he is not treating patients, Dr. Friedman enjoys theater, going to baseball games, and spending time with his family. The practice welcomes all new patients and accepts most major forms of health insurance.

Care Philosophy: Dr. Das grew up in Brooklyn and then Long Island. Dr. Das served on active duty as a Major and Chief of Urology at USAF Hospital Kirtland in Albuquerque NM. He then established a busy research and clinical program in neuro-urology, incontinence, BPH, and voiding dysfunction at AMC Hospital and Albany Medical College, where he was an Associate Professor of Surgery/Urology. He then moved to become Director of the Center for Neuro-urology and Continence at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Harvard Medical School. After 18 years in Boston, he took his current position as Chief of Urology at SIUH.Urologic expertise includes Neuro-urology (urologic problems due to neurologic disease such as MS, Parkinson s disease etc), BPH (prostate enlargement), male and female incontinence, urethral strictures and complex urodynamics. Also seen are kidney and bladder stones, bladder tumors, elevated PSA and general urologic problems including hematuria ( blood in urine), family planning, recurrent urinary tract infections etc.Awards and Recognition:James C.
