Care Philosophy: Originally from New Orleans, Louisiana, Dr Marth was born into a large family of obstetricians and gynecologists, with her father, aunt and uncle all being practicing physicians in New Orleans. This unique exposure to obstetrics and gynecology at a very early age inspired Dr Marth to devote her life to the care of women. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Tennessee, after which she attended Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans, where she received her medical degree. She then completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Virginia Commonwealth University. After residency, Dr Marth worked in private practice in association with Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City for several years.

Biography: Medicine combines all my passions complex problem solving, helping people and working with my hands into one field. \n My approach to working with patients is to educate and guide them to make the best healthcare decisions for themselves. I feel it's my job to give patients as much information as I can and share my own perspectives to help them choose what's right for them. Every woman is different, and I honor my patients' individuality by tailoring a plan just for them. \n I'm originally from eastern North Carolina and moved to the coast for my medical training and knew this is where I wanted to make my home. I enjoy taking care of the women in our corner of North Carolina. \n I am married and have two teenage daughters. My biggest passion in life - outside my work as an OB/GYN - is raising strong, intelligent and independent young women. In my free time, I love spending time with my family. I also enjoy boating, photography and painting.

Biography: My grandmother was a nurse for over 40 years, and I thought she was the coolest person on Earth. I wanted to go into healthcare to be like her. I chose obstetrics and gynecology because it incorporates the best parts of medicine. I get to see patients throughout their lifetime and develop relationships, and I get to practice in multiple settings - office, operating room, and labor and delivery. \n I work hard to stay current on new medications and techniques in my field. I like to make the patient the team leader for their healthcare team and empower them to make the best decisions while taking both science and their personal perspectives into consideration. I strive to make all patients feel comfortable so they are able to develop a relationship with me that fosters trust and respect. I am a strong supporter of the LGBTQ+ community and believe in health equality. \n I was the first surgeon in our area and with the Novant Health system to perform a vNOTES hysterectomy that allows for a complex surgery to be completed without any incisions on the abdomen. \n I have an interest in hormones, menopause, vulvar dermatoses, sexual medicine and infertility. \n I was born and raised in eastern North Carolina, and most of my life was spent in Kenansville, a small town in Duplin County. I graduated from Meredith College in Raleigh, where I played on the tennis team, and was the first college graduate in my family. \n I have always been a diehard North Carolina State fan. (Go, Pack!) I married my high school sweetheart who attended NCSU. I attended East Carolina University for medical school and had my first two children during this time. I did my residency in Charlotte, lived there for four years and had my third child during my last year of training. She was born prematurely after a very high-risk pregnancy, which has helped me to see close-up the challenges that some of my patients encounter. \n I believe I'm a better doctor because of that experience and am thankful that my daughter is thriving and healthy today. \n I enjoy being on the water, reading supernatural romances, running in races with my kids (when my hip is behaving) and traveling and experiencing new cultures and foods. I have traveled to Guatemala several times throughout my career and try to schedule regular medical mission trips.
