Biography: Selam Whitfield, MD is an OB/GYN surgeon. She joined Matlock OB/GYN in 2021 and provides general obstetric and gynecological services for women of all ages. Dr. Whitfield enjoys providing comprehensive care for women throughout some of the most challenging, vulnerable, and empowering stages of life. She is passionate about improving health literacy in her patients in order to facilitate shared decision making. Her clinical interests include contraception management, adolescent care, and minimally invasive surgery. Dr. Whitfield received her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky in 2017. In 2021 she completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, where she served as Administrative Chief Resident in her final year and was awarded Resident of the Year and Outstanding Resident in Minimally Invasive Surgery. She is a member of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and the Society of Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgeons. While away from the office, Dr. Whitfield enjoys cooking, baking, watching any Netflix series pertaining to those two activities, and spending time with her husband and newborn son.

Biography: Dr. Wajahat Humayun is a board-certified physician specializing in Interventional and Structural Cardiology. Dr. Humayun began his medical career at Allama Iqbal Medical College in Lahore, Pakistan, where he earned his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.B.S) degree in March 2012. Following this, he pursued further training in the United States, completing his residency in Internal Medicine at Abington Hospital-Jefferson Health in Abington, PA from July 2014 to June 2017. He distinguished himself as Chief Resident during his tenure from July 2017 to June 2018. Dr. Humayun then completed a fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA, from July 2019 to June 2022, followed by a specialized fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at Loyola University Medical Center from July 2022 to June 2023 before serving as the Chief Fellow in the Division of Cardiovascular Disease. His dedication to the field is underscored by his leadership roles and extensive training in both clinical practice and research within cardiology.
