Biography: During Dr. Njuguna's Fellowship at the National Cancer Institute (NCI), he began conducting research into the development of new drug therapies for Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL), a type of cancer of the blood and bone marrow. His research focused on complications of current drug therapies used to treat CLL, and their cause. Several of his research findings have been presented at the annual meeting of the American Society of Hematology (ASH) and published in its medical journal, Blood. Dr. Njuguna has continued his work at Cancer Care Northwest in treating patients with lymphoma and chronic leukemia. He is currently involved in several clinical trials regarding CLL and Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma.
