But if surgery is necessary, I use minimally invasive techniques combined with state of the art rehabilitation to optimize recovery. I use video visits / telemedicine to minimize patient travel time and allow communication with the patient whether they are work, school, or therapy.

Biography: Dr. McCulloch a Board-certified, fellowship-trained, CAQ-certified Orthopedic Sports Medicine Surgeon, and holds the John S. Dunn endowed Chair in Orthopedic Surgery at Houston Methodist Hospital. He is a long-time Team Physician for the Houston Astros, and the President-elect of the Major League Baseball team physician association. He is also the Head Team Physician for Rice University. In addition, he works with the Houston Ballet and the NASA Astronaut Corps. He performs arthroscopic shoulder, elbow and knee procedures. These include ligament and tendon repairs, reconstructions and fracture surgery. He treats labrum and meniscus tears, and articular cartilage injuries- including cell therapies and cartilage transplants. In addition to acute sports injury and instability, Dr. McCulloch treats all degenerative shoulder conditions including rotator cuff repairs and shoulder replacements. He graduated from Harvard with Honors where he was a varsity athlete. He graduated at the top of his class from the University of California (UCSF) School of Medicine, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society and was President of the student body. Dr. McCulloch returned to Harvard to complete internship at Beth Israel-Deaconess Hospital and residency in at the Harvard Combined Orthopedic Surgery Program. He completed a fellowship in sports medicine at Rush Medical Center in Chicago. He subsequently completed the International Cartilage Repair Society (ICRS) European Traveling Fellowship. He was faculty at Baylor College of Medicine for three years before joining the Houston Methodist Hospital staff where he holds academic appointments from Houston Methodist Academic Institute, Weill Cornell Medical College, Texas A&M, and is the Associate Fellowship Director. He teaches fellows and residents and is a founding editor of Orthobullets, which is a free orthopedic education website. His research interests include clinical and laboratory studies pertaining to baseball, knee, shoulder and elbow instabilities, emerging technologies, cell therapies, as well as meniscal and articular cartilage repair.

Biography: Dr. Jarolimek was born in Prague, Czech Republic. He graduated from the University of Colorado with a B.A. in Biology. Biography: Vincent J. Mandola, MD, is a sports medicine and family medicine physician treating a wide range of patients. Dr. Mandola earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M University and his medical degree from St. George's University School of Medicine. He then completed his residency training in family medicine at Houston Methodist in the Texas Medical Center and went on to complete his sports medicine fellowship training at Houston Methodist Orthopedics and Sports Medicine. Dr. Mandola treats a variety of conditions, both acute and chronic, with a focus on sports medicine. Some of these conditions include concussion management, arthritis, fractures, sprains, and treatment of other sports-related injuries as well as preventative primary care, treatment for minor illnesses and management of chronic conditions like diabetes and hypertension. He also advises his patients on how to prevent injuries when patients embark on new adventures such as running a marathon or trying to achieve a new athletic goal. He has served as medical director for the Sugar Land Skeeters and currently serves as the team physician for Houston Baptist University, Houston Rodeo and several area schools. He has also provided medical coverage for the PGA Tour, Rice University, Houston Dash, Houston Marathon, The Woodlands Marathon, Ironman The Woodlands, USA Olympic Team and Prairie View A&M University. He believes in building a strong relationship with his patients to develop an individualized treatment plan for each patient. As a former multisport athlete and someone with strong family values, he is dedicated to enriching the health of others in those arenas and enjoys caring for high level athletes, weekend warriors and the community. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, being on the water, fishing and watching sports.
