Care Philosophy: Dr Caudell joined the Moffitt Faculty in October 2011 as Assistant Member in the Head and Neck program, Radiation Oncology specializing in the treatment of head and neck cancers. Dr Caudell's clinical interests include treatment of head and neck cancer and cutaneous malignancies with radioth???erapy. Research interests include prediction of radiation sensitivity, evaluation of novel radiosensitizers and radioprotectants, as well as the use of technology to improve radiation delivery for head and neck cancer. Dr Caudell is currently co-PI on the national NRG HN-002 prospective clinical trial testing methods to reduce toxicity for patients with low risk oropharyngeal HPV positive H&N cancer.

Care Philosophy: Dr Matthew Perez is as an Assistant Member in the Department of Cutaneous Oncology. Dr Perez received his MD degree from the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine. He completed a General Surgery Residency at Emory University, Atlanta, Georgia, where he also served as Chief Resident. During his residency, he completed a Research Fellowship in the Department of Cutaneous Oncology at Moffitt Cancer Center. Dr Perez most recently completed a Complex General Surgical Oncology Fellowship at Moffitt Cancer Center and the University of South Florida.

Biography: Dr. Ji Fan is an Assistant Member in the Department of Gastrointestinal Oncology at Moffitt Cancer Center. Dr. Fan received his MD degree from Hubei Medical University, China. In addition, he also received his MBA at the Miami Herbert Business School. He then completed a Transplant Surgery Fellowship at the University of Miami, Florida (2009-2012). From 2012- 2018, Dr. Fan was an Assistant Professor and Liver/GI Transplant Surgeon at the University of Miami, Jackson Memorial Hospital. The Miami Transplant Institute is one of the largest and busiest in the world. Dr. Fan then completed a General Surgery Residency at HCA/University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine (2018-2023). Dr. Fan's clinical interest is the general surgery care of cancer patients using minimally invasive and robotic techniques, as well as palliative surgery for terminal cancer patients to improve their quality of life. He has over 100 peer reviewed publications with extensive research experience. His current research interests include evaluating factors that affect surgical outcomes and the economic impact of surgical procedures on patients and healthcare systems. He has been a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons since 2014 and has been involved nationally in many surgical professional societies.

Biography: Dr. Satish Mahara is a Clinical Assistant Member in the Department of Satellite and Community Oncology. Dr. Maharaj received his MD degree from the University of the West Indies. He completed an Internal Medicine Residency at University of Florida Health, Jacksonville. He then completed a Hematology and Oncology Fellowship at the University of Louisville, Brown Cancer Center, Kentucky. Dr. Maharaj joins us from Texas Tech University, Paul L Foster School of Medicine, where he was an Assistant Professor and attending physician in Hematology and Oncology at the University Medical Center, El Paso. Dr. Maharaj's clinical focus is on the treatment of gastrointestinal and head and neck cancers, including oral cavity, oropharyngeal, esophageal, gastric, colorectal, liver, pancreatic, and anal cancers. His research focuses on investigating the use of various biomarkers to better classify, treat and monitor cancer and the potential adverse effects of therapy.
