Biography: A native Texan, Dr. Marisa Sandera graduated summa cum laude from St. Mary's University in San Antonio, TX. She went on to receive her Doctor of Medicine degree from The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. After that, Dr. Sandera completed her internal medicine internship and residency at Texas A&M's Scott & White Clinic in Temple, TX, where she was appointed chief resident in internal medicine. After completing her fellowship training in medical oncology at Scott & White, she joined the START Center for Cancer Care's team of caring, dedicated specialists. Dr. Sandera sees patients at both the Boerne and Sonterra locations. She sees all tumor types (as well as cases of benign hematology) with special interest in breast cancer, gastrointestinal malignancies, and genitourinary malignancies, such as renal cell and prostate cancer. The Boerne clinic is a full-service office that offers chemotherapy, radiation, as well as office visits for those who do not wish to travel into San Antonio. Dr. Sandera sees new and returning patients at both office locations.

Biography: Dr. Amanda Bucheit is board certified in oncology and hematology and is currently practicing with the START Center at their Sonterra location. A native of Boone, Iowa, Dr. Bucheit received a bachelor's degree from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. After working in molecular research at the Mayo Clinic, she went on to earn her medical degree at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine in Iowa City, Iowa. She completed her residency training in internal medicine at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan. This was followed by fellowship training in hematology and oncology at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. While at MD Anderson, Dr. Bucheit worked extensively with faculty in the Melanoma Medical Oncology Department and published several first-author papers in the field. She was the recipient of the Humanities Award, which is awarded to a third-year fellow who demonstrates outstanding clinical skills and compassionate care. Dr. Bucheit treats all cancer types, but has a special interest in melanoma, lung cancer and gastrointestinal malignancies.

Biography: Dr. Conde is a native of Ecuador, South America. She received her medical degree from Universidad Catolica Santiago de Guayaquil (Catholic University of Guayaquil, Ecuador) in 1987. She completed her year of rural medicine service in Ecuador prior to moving to Miami, Florida to complete her clinical rotations. She completed her internship and residency in internal medicine at Temple University, affiliated Conemaugh Hospital in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. Her postgraduate fellowship in medical oncology was at the University of Pittsburg, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.Dr. Conde worked with the Amarillo VA Health Care System, Harrington Cancer Center, and Baylor Scott & White Cancer Center as a medical oncologist prior to joining South Texas Oncology and Hematology at the START Center in 2015. She is also fluent in Spanish and board certified in medical oncology.
