Biography: Dr. Juan Garisto is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Urology at Weill Cornell Medicine as well as an Uro-Oncologist and Robotic Surgeon within the NYP-Brooklyn Campus. Dr. Garisto completedhis Society of Urologic Oncology (SUO) fellowship at University of Toronto Princess Margaret Hospital (2015-2017). He continued his training in minimally invasive surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation (2017-2020). He had the opportunity to be part of the surgical team that performed the first single port robotic urology procedure in the United States. With a practice focused on minimally invasive treatment for urologic cancers, Dr. Garisto is the author of over 100 peer reviewed publications and several surgical book chapters. Dr. Garisto's research focuses on active surveillance for prostate cancer, orthotopic bladder cancer models, and adjuvant immunotherapy for urologic malignancies. Dr. Garisto will be seeing patients at the NYP-Brooklyn Campus and is taking on the role of NYP- Brooklyn Site Director for Urologic Oncology.


Biography: Todd J. Robinson is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Weill Cornell Medical College, Cornell University, and is an Attending Transplant Surgeon at New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center. He is board certified in general surgery and specializes in liver, kidney, and pancreas transplantation, living kidney donation, robot-assisted donor nephrectomy, robot-assisted kidney implantation, and general surgery in abdominal transplant patients.Dr. Robinson completed his abdominal transplant fellowship training in multi-organ transplantation at the University of Virginia. Prior to that, he completed his general surgery residency training at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, Washington. He attended medical school at Midwestern University's Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Robinson graduated from the University of Utah with a bachelor's degree in History, where he focused on social justice in the United States, as well as gender and race issues and the politics of colonialism.

Biography: Dr. Peter Liou is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Columbia University and an Attending Transplant Surgeon at New York Presbyterian Hospital. He is board-certified in general surgery and received specialty training in abdominal transplant and hepatobiliary surgery. His practice interests focus on the surgical management of adults and children with liver and bile duct disease including those with liver failure, cirrhosis, bile duct and gallbladder disease, as well as those with benign and malignant liver tumors and cysts. He is skilled in minimally invasive surgery and trained to perform both laparoscopic and robotic surgery whenever possible. Dr. Liou received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Biochemistry and Music from Columbia College, and subsequently attended medical school at Columbia University's College of Physicians and Surgeons. He was the recipient of a Doris Duke Translational Research Grant under the mentorship of Dr. Jessica Kandel. Dr. Liou then completed his general surgical residency at New York Presbyterian / Columbia, while receiving additional clinical training in Intestinal/Multivisceral transplant and Adult ECMO with Drs. Tomoaki Kato and Matthew Bacchetta during that time. He then continued with a surgical fellowship in Abdominal Organ Transplantation and Hepatobiliary Surgery at New York Presbyterian Columbia and Weill Cornell. She is anAssistant Professor of Surgery at Weill Cornell MedicalCollege.Dr. Romero Arenas completed a fellowship in Oncologic Surgical Endocrinology at the University of Texas MDAnderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX. She completed herGeneral Surgery Residency at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore.She earned her Medical Doctorate and Master of PublicHealth degrees from The University of Arizona College ofMedicine and the Zuckerman College of Public Health. Shestudied Cell Biology and French at Arizona State University as an undergraduate.Her interests include benign and oncologic endocrine neoplasms, hereditary syndromes, healthdisparities, quality improvement, global health, and genomics. A native of Mexico City, Mexico.Dr. Romero Arenas is passionate about recruiting the next generation of surgeons and isinvolved in mentoring through various organizations, such as the Association of WomenSurgeons, Tour for Diversity in Medicine, Latino Medical Student Association, National HispanicMedical Association, and Building the Next Generation of Academic Physicians.
