Care Philosophy: Dr. James Tarver is a fellowship-trained, board-certified cardiologist with more than 20 years of experience treating pulmonary hypertension. A graduate of the cardiology fellowship program at the National Naval Medical Center/Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Bethesda, MD, he was named Outstanding Fellow upon completion of his training there. He went on to serve as a pulmonary hypertension Clinical Fellow at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Previously, he earned his medical degree at the Boston University School of Medicine. Dr. Tarver is a veteran of the US Navy, where he served as a medical officer and achieved the rank of Commander. Biography: Amelia Thompson, MD, MPH, is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric infectious diseases. She specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases in children, adolescents and young adults. Born in Trinidad and Tobago, she is an award-winning graduate of Colgate University who simultaneously earned both her medical degree and a masters in public health at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York. She thereafter undertook her pediatrics residency followed by an elite fellowship in pediatric infectious diseases at Emory University in Atlanta. Dr. Thompson joined AdventHealth Medical Group in Central Florida from Duke University, where she served as an assistant professor of pediatrics, associate program director of the pediatric infectious diseases fellowship and in other leadership positions.

A graduate of the University of Central Florida, Dr. Russell earned his medical degree at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine before going on to complete a residency in urology at the University of Michigan. He is an experienced researcher in the field of urology and has been published in multiple peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Russell is a member of the American Urologic Association.
