He then went on to complete a surgical internship, a research fellowship and a neurosurgical residency at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center. Throughout his distinguished career, Dr. Selman has held multiple leadership positions in neurosurgery, including chair of the American Board of Neurological Surgery and president of the Society of Neurological Surgeons. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a fellow of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons. He is also a member of the American Academy of Neurological Surgeons, The Congress of Neurological Surgeons and The Neurosurgical Society of America. He has published work in more than 200 peer-reviewed manuscripts, chapters and books. As a neurosurgeon, Dr. Selman considers it a privilege to help his patients and their families deal with neurosurgical problems that can have such a profound impact on their lives.
