Biography: Dr. Shakil Ahmed is a board-certified pain physician with over two decades of experience at Weill Cornell Medicine. After completing six years of surgical training in the United Kingdom and earning his Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS), Dr. Ahmed pursued residency training in anesthesiology at Columbia University, followed by a quad-institutional Pain Fellowship program at New York-Presbyterian, Hospital for Special Surgery, Memorial Sloan Cancer Center and Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center.Since joining the Anesthesiology department in 2001, Dr. Ahmed has been dedicated to advancing pain management through clinical care, teaching, and research. Biography: Dr. Farah Hameed was raised in Houston, TX for most of her life. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin, where she majored in the Plan II Honors Program and graduated with University Honors. She attended medical school at the University of Texas Medical Branch, where she was awarded her Medical Degree. She completed her internship in Internal Medicine at Boston University Medical Center, and she completed her residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Harvard Medical School/Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital. She completed her fellowship in Spine and Sports Medicine at Northwestern University through the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago where she won the Baskin Award for excellence in research. She serves as the Medical Director of women's health rehabilitation. She is board certified in both Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine.
