Certainly, no one looks forward to having surgery, but if you need a procedure, I'm committed to striving for painless, bloodless surgery, with minimal scarring, fast healing, and the least disruption to your life possible. I have been a board certified, practicing Ob/Gyn for almost 20 years. Since being introduced to robotic (daVinci) surgery in 2010, I have performed over 350 daVinci procedures. I was one of the first several dozen gyn surgeons in the US to complete the Master Level (highest level) of daVinci surgical training. I'm especially interested in benign complex gyn problems such as pelvic pain, endometriosis, large fibroids, hysterectomy, pelvic prolapse, and uterine bleeding problems. 99% of the surgeries I have performed in the past 4 years have been successfully completed through small incisions, with no major complications. In order to be able to offer minimally invasive surgical options to more women, I retired from delivering babies in April of 2014 and found the San Antonio area's first dedicated MIGS practice, Virtuosa Gyn. Biography: Dr. Gregory Shelton is an OB/Gyn in Houston, Pearland and Angleton area specializing in abnormal pap smears, cervical dysplasia, abnormal bleeding and menopause.Dr. Greg Shelton is a native Houstonian who has chosen to establish his medical practice with OBGYN Medical Center Associates. in his hometown. Dr. Shelton earned his undergraduate degree in Chemistry from Colby College in Waterville, Maine, and return to Texas to attend medical school at The University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas. His Ob/Gyn residency was completed at UT Southwestern Medical Center and Parkland Hospital in Dallas.He seeks to establish a long term physician-patient relationships that allow him to provide care for his patients throughout the evolving phases of women's lives. Dr. Shelton and his wife reside in Houston with their son and dog. His outside interest include travel, cooking, and following Houston sports.

Care Philosophy: Our physicians are experts in the diagnosis and treatment of female disorders. We are equipped to perform anything from annual well women exams, including family planning to hormone management, to diagnostic procedures, minimally invasive surgery and other advanced procedures, which may be indicated. Obstetric and gynecologic ultrasounds, or sonograms, are conveniently performed in our Medical Center office by one of our experienced, registered sonographers. Your physician reviews all images and the information gained assists them in planning your prenatal or gynecologic care.
