Biography: Dr. Raza is a Professor of Medicine and Director of the MDS Center at Columbia University in New York, NY. She started her research in Myelodysplastic Syndromes (MDS) in 1982 and moved to Rush University, Chicago, Illinois in 1992, where she was the Charles Arthur Weaver Professor in Oncology and Director, Division of Myeloid Diseases. The MDS Program, along with a Tissue Repository containing more than 50,000 samples from MDS and acute leukemia patients was successfully relocated to the University of Massachusetts in 2004 and to Columbia University in 2010. Before moving to New York, Dr. Raza was the Chief of Hematology Oncology and the Gladys Smith Martin Professor of Oncology at the University of Massachusetts in Worcester. She has published the results of her laboratory research and clinical trials in prestigious, peer-reviewed journals such as The New England Journal of Medicine, Nature, Blood, Cancer, Cancer Research, the British Journal of Hematology, Leukemia, and Leukemia Research. Dr. Raza serves on numerous national and international panels as a reviewer, consultant, and advisor and is the recipient of a number of awards.

Biography: Michelle Boyar, MD, is board certified in medical oncology and an assistant clinical professor of medicine at Columbia University Medical Center. Dr. Boyar has a clinical interest in palliative care practices in oncology, gastrointestinal cancers, genitourinary cancers, as well as general oncology. She treats patients with oncologic conditions, such as bladder, prostate, bowel, colon-rectal, esophageal, gallbladder, bile duct, gastric, kidney, and pancreatic cancers. Dr. Boyar strives to form close relationships with her patients and serves her community by offering comprehensive care and connecting them to local resources. Dr. Boyar completed her medical degree at University of Texas Southwestern Medical School and remained at the university to serve her internship and residency at Southwestern Medical Center. She then completed her fellowship in hematology and oncology at Columbia University Medical Center.

Biography: Dr. Kurra, Co-Director of the Columbia Adrenal Center, is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at Columbia University. She received her undergraduate degree in biology magna cum laude from Brown University and attended medical school at the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. She completed her internship and residency in Internal Medicine as well as a fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism at the Columbia University Medical Center. Dr. Kurra serves as Endocrinology section director for the Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons medical student course, "The Body in Health and Disease". She is also a member of both the Columbia University Internal Medicine and Endocrinology Fellowship Recruitment & Selection Committees. Her clinical responsibilities include treating patients at the Columbia Adrenal Center, the New York Thyroid Center, the Metabolic Bone Diseases Program and the Columbia Hypertension Center.

Biography: Dr. Stoopler received his Bachelor of Science degree from Tulane University in 1971 and his medical degree from Cornell University Medical College in 1975. He completed his residency at North Shore University Hospital/Memorial Hospital and his oncology fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City before joining the Columbia faculty in 1980. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer, the International Society of Gastrointestinal Oncology, the American Federation for Clinical Research and the Southwest Oncology Group. Dr. Stoopler is involved in patient care, clinical research and teaching on the medical oncology service.
