Biography: Sohaib Malik, MD is a fellowship trained Orthopedic Surgeon. He specializes in hand and shoulder surgery, trauma, and sports medicine. Dr. Malik's journey in medicine began at Eastern Virginia Medical School. He then pursued residency in Orthopedic Surgery at Marshall University in West Virginia, where he honed his surgical skills and clinical expertise. He completed his fellowship at University of Alabama at Birmingham. Biography: Kisan Parikh, MD is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in orthopedic trauma and complex fracture care. He has a passion for helping patients regain their active lifestyles after sustaining a traumatic injury. He enjoys working with each patient to tailor the treatment plan to fit their goals. He grew up in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area and attended the University of Texas. He graduated with the highest honors and earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He then attended the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas for medical school and was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He then completed his residency training at the University of Kansas Medical Center. While in residency, he was the author of several peer-reviewed journal articles, and he received the Resident Teaching Award. Following residency, he returned to Texas for further training in orthopedic trauma surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. During his fellowship year, he treated a wide variety of complex musculoskeletal injuries including pelvis, acetabular (hip socket), periarticular (involving joints), upper extremity, and lower extremity fractures. He also gained significant experience with polytraumatized patients, nonunions, malunions, and musculoskeletal infections. He was active in training residents and took a particular interest in fractures of the hip, publishing a book chapter and review article on the topic. Outside of medicine, he enjoys spending time with his family and playing ice hockey.
