Biography: Dr. John-Paul ``J.P.`` Pham received his medical degree from Marshall University School of Medicine in Huntington, WV followed by a residency in internal medicine at the University of Florida College of Medicine - Jacksonville. He then completed a fellowship in cardiology at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health/Aurora Health Care followed by a subspecialty fellowship in interventional cardiology/peripheral vascular disease at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. Dr. Pham is trained and certified in a variety of interventional and invasive cardiovascular procedures including cardiac catheterization (right and left heart), percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), coronary atherectomy, intravascular ultrasound (IVUS), fractional flow reserve (FFR), valvuloplasty, mitral valve regurgitation intervention (MitraClip), patent foramen ovale (PFO)/atrial septal defect (ASD) closure, alcohol septal ablation, peripheral vascular intervention, peripheral vascular atherectomy, carotid angiography, vena cava filters, temporary ventricular assist device (Impella), intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP), pericardiocentesis, temporary transvenous pacemaker (TVP), myocardial biopsy, implantable closure devices, and vein ablation and vein closure (Venaseal). Dr. Pham is also proficient in cardiac catheterization via radial artery access, decreasing the risk of complications as well as improving patient comfort and facilitating earlier recovery. In addition, Dr. Pham is also trained and certified in a number of non-invasive cardiovascular procedures including echocardiography, transesophageal echocardiography, cardioversion, nuclear cardiology, electrocardiography, cardiac computed tomography (CT), and tilt table testing. Dr. Pham is an active member of several professional societies and organizations including the American Heart Association, the American College of Cardiology, and the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions.

It is important to me to treat each patient as an individual with unique circumstances and needs and to find the best approach to helping each one. This may or may not require surgery , may or may not be related to anything I do or normally care for, but I will help you find a path to recovery. While I know I cannot cure everyone I see, I do know I can help you heal.
