Biography: Dr. Bell graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma with an undergraduate degree in Biology and a minor in Psychology. She then pursued her medical degree from Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Tulsa, OK. Dr. Bell completed her Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland in Pontiac, Michigan. She chose the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology because of the versatility the field. It provided her the opportunity to practice office-based medicine, in addition to delivering infants and performing surgery. She enjoys being able to establish a long-term relationship with her patients while advocating for women's health. In her free time, Dr. Bell enjoys traveling, cooking, and wine tasting.

Biography: Dr. Newsom grew up in Southlake, Texas. She received her undergraduate degree from Duke University then returned to Texas to attend UT Southwestern Medical School. She remained in Dallas to complete her residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at Parkland Hospital. She is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is a member of the Texas Medical Association, the Dallas County Medical Society and a Fellow the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.Dr. Newsom loves caring for women through all of the stages of womanhood. "There is no doctor who is as intimately involved with your life as your OBGYN, whether you are seeing her for an annual exam and birth control, pregnancy and the amazing life event of having a baby, or for assistance through the menopausal transition. The long-lasting relationships we have with our patients are why I chose this field, and I am so excited for the privilege to care for the women of Dallas."Dr. Newsom's services include routine gynecological care including well woman visits, in office surgeries, minimally invasive surgery, routine obstetrics as well as VBACs, twins, and high risk pregnancies.When not at work Dr. Newsom is usually spending time with her husband and four young boys, who keep her busy and very active!

Biography: Selam Whitfield, MD is an OB/GYN surgeon. She joined Matlock OB/GYN in 2021 and provides general obstetric and gynecological services for women of all ages. Dr. Whitfield enjoys providing comprehensive care for women throughout some of the most challenging, vulnerable, and empowering stages of life. She is passionate about improving health literacy in her patients in order to facilitate shared decision making. Her clinical interests include contraception management, adolescent care, and minimally invasive surgery. Dr. Whitfield received her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky in 2017. In 2021 she completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, where she served as Administrative Chief Resident in her final year and was awarded Resident of the Year and Outstanding Resident in Minimally Invasive Surgery. She is a member of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and the Society of Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgeons. While away from the office, Dr. Whitfield enjoys cooking, baking, watching any Netflix series pertaining to those two activities, and spending time with her husband and newborn son.
