Biography: Dr. Huang is a fellowship-trained abdominal organ transplant surgeon. and is board certified by the American Board of Surgery. He earned his medical degree at Washington University in St. Louis, MO and completed his residency at the University of South Florida in Tampa. Dr. Huang then went on to complete a fellowship with the LifeLink Transplant Institute in Tampa. He currently serves as the surgical director of renal transplantation for Tampa General Medical Group and is the vice chief of general surgery at Tampa General Hospital. Dr. Huang also holds an affiliate assistant professor appointment from the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine, department of surgery. He is fully-trained in all aspects of abdominal transplant surgery including liver, kidney and pancreas transplants as well as laparoscopic donor nephrectomies. He also specializes in the surgical treatment of diseases of the liver, biliary tract and pancreas. A native of Slovakia, Dr. Porubsky completed his medical training at Komensky University in Bratislava, Slovakia. He has worked at a number of universities and hospitals around the world including surgery departments in Slovakia, Germany, Illinois, Indiana and Arizona. He is a member of The United Network for Organ Sharing, The American Society for Transplant Surgeons, The American College of Surgeons and The American Medical Association.

Biography: Brian Collins, MD, is the Clinical Director of the Department of Radiation Oncology at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital and an Assistant Professor at Georgetown University School of Medicine. Dr. Collins joined the staff in 2001 after completing his residency at MedStar Georgetown. Previously, he received his medical degree from SUNY-Stony Brook, and fulfilled his internship at St. Vincent's Hospital and Medical Center in New York City. Dr Laronga enjoys making a difference in women's lives through her clinical practice and research. She treats women with all levels of breast disease, from benign cysts to metastatic breast cancer. Dr Laronga is a principal investigator for several ground-breaking procedures, including nipple and areola skin-sparing efforts after mastectomy and liposuction for arm lymphedema resulting from breast cancer treatment. She also conducts basic research in proteomics, the study of protein markers in tissue and blood.

He completed an Internal Medicine Residency and a Hematology and Medical Oncology Fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He then completed a Stem Cell Transplantation and Cellular Therapy Fellowship at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Dr Gaballa previously practiced in the Thomas Jefferson University, Division of Hematologic Malignancies and Blood and Marrow Transplantation.

Care Philosophy: Dr Walker received her MD from University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. She completed an Internal Medicine Residency and a Hematology/Oncology Fellowship at the University of Rochester, New York. She joins us from The Ohio State University, where she served as a Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Hematology. Dr Walker's clinical interests are in the care of patients with myeloid malignancies, specifically acute myeloid leukemia and myelodysplastic syndromes. She is particularly interested in identifying ways to deliver care that maximizes resource utilization and achieves superior patient satisfaction.

Care Philosophy: Dr Javier F Torres-Roca is a Senior Member in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Moffitt Cancer Center. He also serves as Professor of Oncologic Sciences in the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine. A graduate of the University of Puerto Rico Medical School, he completed research fellowships in immunology and genetics at the Institut Pasteur in Paris and Stanford University in California. He subsequently trained in radiation oncology at the University of California, Irvine. Dr Torres-Roca's research interests include the development of genomic strategies to personalize radiation therapy for individual patients. His clinical interest is in genitourinary malignancies.

Care Philosophy: Dr Rachid Baz is a board-certified hematologist and medical oncologist who came to Moffitt in 2008 from Cleveland Clinic. Currently, Dr Baz is the Myeloma Section Head in the Department of Malignant Hematology at Moffitt Cancer Center and co-Director of the Pentecost Family Myeloma Research Center. He has developed a special expertise in managing patients with plasma cell disorders such as multiple myeloma, monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance (MGUS), plasmacytoma, primary systematic amyloidosis, and Waldenstrom's macroglobulinemia (WM). Among other awards, he was the recipient of the Junior Clinical Science Award at Moffitt, and the University of South Florida Outstanding Resident Teaching Award.

Care Philosophy: Dr Andre Beer Furlan is a skull base and endovascular neurosurgeon at Moffitt Cancer Center and Assistant Professor of Oncologic Sciences at the University of South Florida. Dr Beer Furlan earned his MD and PhD degrees from the University of Svo Paulo (FMUSP), a top ranked university in Latin America. He completed the neurosurgery residency at the same institution and practiced as a neurosurgeon and skull base surgeon in Sao Paulo, Brazil before moving to the United States.

Care Philosophy: Dr David Joyce is an Assistant Member in the Sarcoma Department. Dr Joyce earned his MD degree from Case Western Reserve University, Case School of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. He completed an Orthopaedic Residency at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Ohio and an Orthopaedic Trauma Fellowship at Vanderbilt University, Nashville, Tennessee. He most recently completed a Musculoskeletal Oncology Fellowship at Moffitt Cancer Center.

Care Philosophy: Dr Sophie Dessureault is a surgical oncologist in the Department of Gastrointestinal Oncology at Moffitt Cancer Center. She is a professor of oncology and surgery at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine. Dr Dessureault graduated with distinction from Dalhousie University School of Medicine in Halifax, Nova Scotia. After medical school, she pursued additional training at the University of Toronto where she completed both a surgical residency and a PhD in the Surgical Scientist Program. Dr Dessureault came to Moffitt Cancer Center in 1999 for a fellowship in Surgical Oncology.

Additionally, Dr Hoover is theBreast Surgical OncologyFellowshipProgram Director.She returned to Moffitt after several years of practice at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. In addition to performing breast surgeries, such as mastectomies and lumpectomies, she has special expertise in minimally-invasive surgery techniques, incorporating sentinel lymph node biopsy, breast ultrasound, breast needle biopsy and accelerated partial breast irradiation into her patient care.

Biography: Dr. Agrawal is a board-certified gastroenterology physician. He received his medical degree from the Federal University of Paraiba School of Medicine in Campina Grande, Brazil and an internal medicine residency at Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, OH. Dr. Agrawal completed a gastroenterology and hepatology fellowship at Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, IN and transplant hepatology fellowship at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC. Dr. Agrawal is a member of the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, the American Association for the Study of Liver Disease, the American Society of Transplantation, the American Gastroenterological Association and the American College of Physicians. Dr. Agrawal is currently an affiliate assistant professor for the department of internal medicine at the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine. Dr. Agrawal speaks English, Portuguese, Hindi and medical Spanish. In his spare time he enjoys soccer and studying foreign languages.
