His interest in retina started when he did his residency in ophthalmology at The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary where he was involved in retinal imaging studies and lutein measurement. He then continued his training by completing a fellowship in medical and surgical treatment of Retinal diseases at the Infirmary.

Expertise combined with humility characterizes Dr Phillpotts informative, straightforward and compassionate style of patient care. His area of concentration includes medical and surgical management of diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, retinal detachments, macular holes, epi-retinal membranes and other vitreo-retinal disorders such as retinal vascular occlusion and sickle cell retinopathy. Biography: Remington Horesh, DO is a fellowship-trained vitreoretinal surgeon specializing in the medical and surgical treatment of retinal disorders. This sub-specialization allows him to compliment his fellow surgeons at St. Luke's at The Villages in providing the community with complete ocular health care.

Care Philosophy: Danielle Arcaro, MD completed her residency in ophthalmology at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. She is board-certified and is practicing general ophthalmology. Dr Arcaro received her Bachelor of Arts degree Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Rutgers University in New Jersey. She completed her medical studies at the George Washington University Medical Center, where she remained to serve her Internal Medicine internship and Ophthalmology residency.

Biography: I am a board certified ophthalmologist and a fellowship trained retina specialist. I completed my fellowship with Associate Retina Consultants in Detroit, and was a staff physician at Kresge Eye Institute. I have served as Chief of Surgery at Oak Hill Hospital, and on the Board of Directors of All Saints Surgery Center. In addition, I served on the Board of Examiners for the College of Ophthalmology, and taught as an associate professor at Nova Southeastern and University of South Florida.

Care Philosophy: Dr Gooch served 28 years in the US Air Force and held several esteemed roles including Chief, Aerospace Ophthalmology at the US Air Force Aeromedical Consultation Service from October 2006 to February 2014. He was Chief Consultant to the US Air Force Surgeon General for Aerospace Ophthalmology, and a Chief Flight Surgeon with over 1,000 total military flying hours in both fighter and transport aircraft. He retired from active duty in February 2014 at the rank of Colonel. With over 20 years in practice, Dr Gooch brings a wealth of experience to St. Luke's at The Villages. He was personally selected by Dr Kimberly Ireland and Dr Pit Gills to join the practice.

Care Philosophy: Chander N. Samy, M.D. is a retinal sub-specialist with fellowship training in diseases and surgery of the retina and vitreous. His field of expertise comprises age-related macular degeneration (including the latest and most advanced treatments), retinal detachment surgery, laser surgery, diabetic retinopathy, and macular hole surgery.

Biography: Dr Orlick is the founding partner of the practice. Born and raised in St Petersburg, Dr. Orlick has been proud to serve his community since 1991. After achieving the highest honors at the University of South Florida studying Natural sciences, Dr. Orlick completed his medical studies at the Thomas Jefferson School of Medicine in Philadelphia. Following an internship in internal medicine at the University of Miami, he completed his Ophthalmology training at Tulane University in New Orleans. His interest in diseases of the retina led him to accept fellowship training under Dr. David Meyers at the Vitreoretinal Foundation, Memphis, Tennessee. After a number of years away from home, Dr Orlick returned to St. Petersburg to begin his career as a vitreoretinal specialist and surgeon. His private practice obligations have been balanced by one of his main clinical interests: teaching. For the past twenty years, he has continued volunteering his time in the eye clinic of James A. Haley VA hospital, supervising in the care of veterans while teaching ophthalmology residents. Dr Orlick has vast experience in treating a variety of retinal diseases including macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal tears and detachments, macular pucker and holes, retinal vein occlusions, and uveitis.
